Philip Carruthers Ltd was established in February 2010. The practice was originally set up to deal with Valuations, RICS HomeBuyer Reports and Building Surveys on all types of residential property. We have since developed a reputation for dealing with period, Listed and historic properties.
We are proud to be members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and are regulated by the RICS guidelines and protocol.
We are a completely independent surveying firm, based on the edge of Dartmoor, and are not owned or affiliated to any large company or organisation. You can be assured that the advice you receive from us will therefore be completely impartial and not influenced by any third party interests.
Philip Carruthers, has been a Chartered Surveyor since 1985, is a RICS Registered Valuer, and has a and has a comprehensive understanding of the Conservation of the Historic Environment. He has been carrying out valuations and surveys of residential properties in the Devon and Dartmoor area since 2001 and has an understanding of the local issues and vernacular construction types. Phillip can often be found surveying properties in areas such as Okehampton and Ashburton.
Philip has a particular interest in older properties, living in a Grade II listed cottage in a Dartmoor village, and has undertaken repair, extension and renovation works to the property himself, gaining practical “hands on” experience of working on an older property.
